Commencement Address

Today, February 19th, is the commencement day for undergrad students while we know that there are four commencement days for undergrad students: February, May, August, November.

Yes I did join the celebration at GSP along with other comrades from JTETI, but I went home just after the horde reached the Faculty, meaning that I didn’t join the remaining celebration at our department. Lots of stories were happened and I wasn’t there to be one of the witnesses of that prestigious event.

Later on, when I was spending my time with my beloved MacBook, I stumbled upon a video of Steve Jobs, a distinguished ex-CEO of Apple Inc., recorded when he was giving a commencement address at Standford University in 2005. I’ve known about that video already, back on couple years ago, but I was so eager to take a closer look on that video once again.

I was accidentally lucky because I spent couple minutes watching that video and I got nothing but three remarkable stories of Steve Job’s life. Those are when Job was dropped out from college, when Job was fired from Apple — yes, the company that he struggled to establish, and when Job got a miracle that he was able to recover from deadly cancer. Maybe those stories mean nothing to any people, but those stories encouraged myself to do the best in my life, trust God, and more things that I unfortunately forget what it exactly were.

But I remembered a fabulous quotation from the book Job’s read — and I forgot what it is. That quote is:

Stay hungry. Stay foolish.

And in my view, it has a deep value.
